Yeah.
THat's a good point.
"Me thinks thou doth protest too much."
idk why steam can't have a reasonable block system, but w.e... I can just not remember and be like "hey, you're that guy I blocked but whom I still see what they say".
It is a reasonable block system.
No one wants an echo chamber, and this isn't FAcebook/Twitter/X.
Heck, I've been on forums before blocking was even really a thing people even knew about.
Even the official Minecraft forums had an ignore system.
I left Catholicism back in 2015 when I first saw Spotlight. Years later I was drowned in evidence the Catholic church is an organization dedicated to obfuscate, manipulate and bury (mainly but not exclusively) child abuse all over the world - almost by accident, as I wasn't searching for any of that.
Last December I decided to abandon Christianity for... well, just watch the news.
I am a Christ follower, and for that very reason I decided to not be confused by any means with those... monsters. That doesn't mean I don't cooperate with people, Catholic or Evangelical, who have a clear moral compass to live their Lives through - which unfortunately is becoming a scarce thing as years go by.
or maybe it's just them trying to control others opinions? idk... all I know is back in the day when you blocked someone you didn't have to see w.e they were saying anymore and that was good nuf.
That's how this current system works though.
You don't see what they say unless you click on the post.
Social media full deleting of any kind of posts can be too easily abused.
I know how that works.
Twitter/X has it's own really awkward block system.
People literally blocked me for telling the truth about something. XD Way back in the day when I used it.
Like, about a comic book of all things!
They should change how quotes work, and the ability to click and see what a blocked user says. Otherwise, block is fine MOSTLY as it is now.
Yeah, it works well now.
Tweaking the quotes would also be a good idea.
I just have too much experience with how social media and others block people. LOL.
Again, that's not a valid complaint since you can literally just ignore the click on what they say button.
That's on the person if they don't have self control.
I say, as someone who does click on blocked users in case I don't remember why I blocked thme.
Outside of quotes, though. I see no logic behind blocking someone, then clicking their content to see what they say. People need more self control.
I agree, and I do understand that.
I just hate how social media conditioned a lot of people into wanting to not allow people to post.
