I would agree it essentially is kindness and consideration for others but also the knowledge and experience of making people around them in a social setting comfortable such as the art of conversation and basic ettiquettes.

Being a gentleman is about leaving a good impression on people while never showing a hint of aggression (regardless of the situation).

There is no way a person can stay this way in public+behind closed doors and not go crazy.
