I take it from your comment, that you are not an Atheist but a Christian. So shouldn't you know your own scripture better than people who don't follow your religion?
I'm neither.
Because Satan deceived Eve into allowing sin to enter into God's creation, and sin causes us to age and die, because the wages of sin is death. If God wiped out some people, it was because Satan had corrupted them.
You can kill anyone you want so long as you have the moral high-ground, and God will always have the moral high-ground.
To maintain the logic, keep in mind that according to God, he killed only sinners(actually a lot of innocent people included) and he is supposedly a good guy, merciful, loving and all that jazz, while Satan would torture and kill any living being that he can see on the horizon with erotic excitement.
If Bible were true hypothetically, it seems though as to better not side with either God or Satan, but if one should choose the lesser evil, it would be the God.
So you mean, even torturing and killing innocent children is good as long as God does it? Doesn't sound like a dude I would want to worship.
Really doesn't matter, because both were created by God to be his evil adversary, so in the end he is responsible for what they are doing.
Look at the world around you and our history. We still send armies to foreign lands to kill thousands because some goon convinced you you are right. It's ok to bomb city blocks because we're the correct ones therefor justified in our actions.
It's like saying "it's ok for me to do amoral things so long as my reasons are moral." Only humans could think up something so hypocritical as morality.
I don't think people realize just how vile the human race can be. They just use God (or whatever religion they follow) to excuse their actions.
And the idea that "anything can be justified" is why humanity will never crawl out of the gutter.
The former is doing evil deeds because he's ordered by God to. This angel has a low opinion of mankind and puts us to the test to see if they are worthy of God. With God's authority he was allowed to murder Job's family. The latter is doing evil deeds because God allows him to, and does everything, even allowing evil, to serve his own selfish designs to attain glory.
God has only ever cared about his image. He doesn't outright destroy Israel, because that would make him look bad in front of his own hosts in Heaven.
God is as immoral as Eru from Lord of the Rings, who was Biblically inspired, as he only cares about his own glory as well if you bother to read the Silmarillion.
Realizing this, many Christians don't just move the goalposts, they jump the literal shark. "So what if our God is pure evil?" They say. "Who are you to judge? He has every right to destroy, torture, and murder what he has made."
Knowing this, why do you enslave yourself to this fiction, by endorsing and defending an evil character's actions?
