Transgender representation in games makes no sense

So, let's say you are a man but you want to be a woman. What's nice about videogames is that you can play as everything and everyone, and who or what you are in this world does not matter at all. So if you want to be a woman, at least in game you can do that if you can play as a female character.

In the real world, you have a problem which is that being male does not feel right to you. If you would have been born as a woman, everything would be fine and you would not have been transgender at all.

So WHY do you want to take transgenderism into the game? In the game world, your problem is solved! You are a woman and have never been a man. So you're not transgender either, you can just drop all of that.

And that is what you want, isn't it? You don't want to be transgender, you want to be a woman.

this is an amazing OP tbh. So many people like to argue transgenderism as if they are transsexual. This thread is a great example of exposing how transgender are people that don't change their sex and just want to identify as the opposite sex.

People need to do a better job of understanding the difference and calling out the 3 spirit men can do what every they want crowd over it. To often people argue a man becoming a women is transgender and should be accepted in female spaces when that is not what transgender is. Transgender is when you are a man but you identify as a women. That is different than people that change their sex.

Don't let people argue transexual points for transgrender people. We all need to understand this topic better than the clowns defending it everyday.

This totally feels like unnecessary fault-finding to me. What are you even referring to? The word 'people' isn't even in the OP at all. So you are making a problem of some things which happened in the past and somewhere else. Which already isn't necessary I think.

Furthermore, I think your paranoia about "people" is a bit paranoid. There is no hidden insult behind me saying "trans people". At least I acknowledged them as people, if I wanted to insult them I would have said "idiots".

I have a feeling it has to do with how you like to identify with these things. Transgender is a thing. Gay is a thing. All of these things are, well, things. If you want to identify yourself with them, how is it my fault? Anyways this last part is just speculation on my part.

With all of these custom genders and whatnot? I am convinced it is beyond confusing, it cannot even be actually understood because if you try to do so, you are going to run into tons of contradictions and other problems.

I guess you are just supposed to pick one that you like, hang your flag above your bed and be happy that you are... something.

If your gender is something I cannot make sense of, then it is useless to tell me about it. But you probably will, because to you, it is important. If I cannot make sense of something which is that important to you, that does not bide well for how easily we are going to get along.

Not sure what any of this has to do with names though.
