Why is it politically incorrect to say "happy holidays" in the USA?
So, me being a Mexican from Mexico (lol) I'm struggling to understand why is it wrong for people to wish happy holidays in the USA.

I often see people getting offended for being wished happy holidays. I suppose for a country that big there are people who have different traditions either because of their religion or lack off to say the least, so I think saying happy holidays it's pretty nice because it takes into account everyone and nobody feels left out.

I know it's not only Unitedstatians, we also have a bunch of people here who do the same but they are a tiny voice compared to the USA where even news anchors join into the offended group.

So why is it?:marijaonlooker:

You'll be wished a Merry Christmas because thats me expressing my holiday feelings. You don't have to reciprocate.

You don't have to know I'm Christian, statistically if you run into me in the streets I probably celebrate Christmas.
Really the only other things one celebrate are Hanukkah (jews are a tiny percent of the pop) and Kwanza (fake holiday anyways)

Most people see it as stupid politically-correct garbage because nobody who celebrates either of these really care if you tell them "Merry Christmas." It comes off as corporate-mandated and soulless.
Why would I wish someone a happy holiday by just running into the streets lmao.
There are 7.6 million Jewish people in the USA, 12 million of USA citizens celebrate Kwanzaa, and 3.45 million Muslims and they don't celebrate Christmas, I'm sorry if happy holidays it's offensive for you but it does no harm.

Edit: the numbers of people I mention are just in the USA
It doesn't offend me, but I'll probably draw personal conclusions about you based on it. Unless you're a retail wagie and forced to say "Happy Holidays" I guess.

Frankly I'd rather hear "Happy Hanukkah" or "Happy Kwanza" rather than "Happy Holidays"
It's kind of ironic because some people who call others snowflakes and say not to get offended by "merry christmas" legitimately get offended by "happy holidays".

I've figured that it's very hard to reason with such people.

It's the equivalent of greeting someone with, "hi there fellow ♥♥♥♥ sapiens"
Very well put.

Lmao the word ♥♥♥♥ is censored?
why wouldn't it be? it's almost never used to refer to the other thing
Everything is politically incorrect in the US, because being mad about everything anybody ever says is one of the most common "personalities" here.

Tbh I didn't think it was really that offensive
you don't decide that, valve does

Someone who wasn't Christian got a Christmas card once and got offended. Now everyone has to walk on broken glass to not mis-religion people so the most neutral thing is happy holidays, which effectively means no specific holiday or religion at all, stripping its emotional investment in the season of giving.
Holiday is far from neutral. It literally means "holy day" for heaven's sake!

False equivalence but "hi there fellow homosapiens" sounds funny

How is it false?
Nothing comparable to calling someone homosapiens while it is still correct it just sounds playful, compared to happy holidays or any other holiday which is used in a more formal and serious way.

It's hard to not chuckle to someone calling you fellow homosapiens, it's just funny and silly

Why is it wrong again to call a human a ♥♥♥♥ sapiens?

I see you edited your comment, to answer your new question, I never said it was wrong, I just said it sounds funny

Fun fact but my job doesn’t celebrate Christmas. You can actually get fired for saying “Merry Christmas” (if they report it of course). Why? Because my job is filled with a diversity of people from Jews, Arabs, and even Nigerians.

Cause sapiens ain't all gay.
As a Christian I'd say Merry Christmas, I've never said Happy Holidays to anyone, but I don't believe people of other religions care or think that Happy Holidays is more inclusive.
You Earthanoids make me laugh so hard my sqeedlyspooch hurts.

Neither do I, I'm agnostic and always tell my grandma and other family members "God Bless you" as a form of saying goodbye.

Hence why I don't understand all the fuzz for saying happy holidays, it's just like a polite way to wish you a happy day or something
