Why do people get so seethingly angry that they have to launch a game out of Steam?

Literally look at any Ubisoft game and it's people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they have to launch it through uplay. It's just one extra step.

Idk they do lose sales like that. My buddy saw me playing Civ 5 for a couple days in a row and he loves chess.

He went home on his own, called me, and was like, "Yo is this Steam thing safe to download? Why can't I just get a CD."

I had to explain that he'd have to order one through 2k games, wait like half a week, and then he could just lose it or whatever years later. And that, he'd probably need Steam eventually since the addiction was starting to take hold.

The same reason people got upset when Valve made everyone install Steam to play HL2 even if they bought it on a physical disc back in the day.

I can understand that. I don't think I had to make an Origin account to create a Spore account to share my Spore creatures and other creations.

Because that would mean you have to waste more memory for the sake of playing a game. Not to mention you have to waste more time having to create an account if you don't have one for the launcher. AND there is the possibility of having a different account mess up with your steam account if the game features account linking.

I don't mind a second or third launcher but the thing is if every developers start having their own launchers , own accounts and passwords then in the end it's become very annoying.

once in a while I launch a ubisoft game just to make sure ubisoft don't think I'm gone and won't use my account anymore. yeah , it's ''very fun''.

I personally don't mind using launchers. I use egs, steam, uplay and a bunch of other launchers. I'm not lazy
