Getting off heat-conducting paste from CPU?
So I couldn t find anywhere rubbing/isopropyl alcholol but I have medical alcohol and acetone. Can I use them to get off the paste? Its not too solid.I ve had it applied for 10 months so I don t think it will be hard to rub it off.

I scratched a little with a toothpick to see if it solidified. It's pretty solidified but it layed out immediately

The reason people use rubbing alcohol is so that there's no residue left, and because it's cheap and it works wonderfully (which is why the higher percentage of alcohol is recommended). I don't know about medical alcohol, by nail polish remover (acetone) has been mentioned if you need a substitute (though it is powerful, be safe and maybe research on it).

For 10+ years I've used Akasa TIM Clean, works well and nothing I've ever used it on has ever broken/failed.
