At least you had to do something to rank up, the Grand Prix event just doled out levels for buying games, making card trading and community tasks redundant.

I remember at the start of it, for a while everyone had an invisible level or something because the badge gave too much XP and they had to fix it. Fun times.

I hope so. I pawned so many levels off that event. Seriously, I was around level 25 or so before the event. Now I'm level 69

The Steam GP wasn't as bad as the recent end of year events last year, where only 2019 games are considered for awards. Now that was a farce.
