grandfather's pardox is stupid
the idea that it's impossible to go back in time to kill your grandpappy because doing so will mean that you were never born to kill your granddad ergo to time machine to kill him being impossible is kinda ridiculous,

first of all: time machines don't exist, and they will never exist because physics just doesn't allow them.

2nd: even if they do, then when you go back in time to kill your grandfather, all that will happen is that there will be no formal record of you or your parents when you go back to the future or staying there, if you take a dna test you will still have the same dna as your grandfather and mother, but the dna from your parents might be mysterious to testers, that's all. you will still be physically alive and will be able to carry on untill your demise, living life how you want to, the only thing that will change is that there will be a gap of written records about your father/mother, and you will probably be a mystery to people as you would never be recorded as having gone to any particular school or town, and you'd have to make new friends and stuff but that's the most that would happen. in my opinion.

i hope i'm correct, any corrections are welcome.

edit: if in the future someone time traveled then we would have already seen the effects of it.

edit: grammer in the first sentance was kinda bad so i fixed it as best i could

This has been resolved by the idea that there are various different timelines, so you'd only be affecting another you in another timeline.

i disagree with the timeline theory, my idea works without those pesky timelines

Yes, I also heard that traveling back in time is -based on all we know - not possible.
But I also heard that -based on the same "time model"- travelling into the future should theorethically be possible.
Unfortunately I am too dumb to repeat the exact words I have rad.
Something about time being like a wave in space that can be deformed and bent. I think I understood what the whole time definition was about, but It's really hard to repeat it.

But it doesn't really resolve the paradox thing. How could you affect things if you were never born in the first place? Saying time machines don't exist and never will is arbitrary because it's a thought experiment.

then ignore that point,

however, when you go back in time your physical body goes back in time too, so while you will never be born, you already have been born in the future that has just been altered, so you won't be popped out of existence randomly because there is no mechanism to do that, there just won't be a clone of you growing up at the same time as you if you didn't kill your granddad and just left him to live his life outside your knowledgeable influence

Think about it like in Terminator, John Connor sends Kyle Reese back in time who then sleeps with Sarah Connor and conceives John Connor. If he never sent him back he would never have been born. It's like a time loop. What came first, the chicken or the egg? Or like in Back to the Future when Marty McFly interupts his parents meeting, and then in his polaroid his siblings are disappearing, and he is going partly invisible.

They don't exist in this universe. Why can't they exist in others?

he wouldn't have been born but his physical self wouldn't disappear

time loops are dumb, and the egg came first because of evolution.

marty wouldn't have started going invisible and the polaroid wouldn't disappear, just the polaroid in the future wouldn't be the same as the he has.

who said anything about other universes? i never mentioned other universes, though i don't like thinking about other universes because that's a stupid notion, who cares what's going on in another universe? let them be, don't worry about them.

With the advent of parallel universes, paradoxes are no longer a thing. The moment you travel backwards through time, you change your spatial/temporal postion in the multiverse into another instance. Sure you can go back to 1938 and kill Hitler, or stand near the grassy knoll in Dallas and yell "DUCK!". Won't matter to the rest of us you leave behind. The universe you're in will be different, though not by much, back here life will go on as though nothing has changed.

no i don't think it's parralel, i think it's the same universe just that when you go back in time, however long you went back in the past is how much time is gone, forever

Why can't they come into our universe? With their own time machines.
