Inverted/ two tone colors only in games.
I can't seem to figure this out. I have never had such a thing happen in all my years. But today I decided I wanted to play some fallout 4; as the game loaded I noticed my color was all two tone/inverted. BUT when I took a screenshot, my color looked fine. so I know it's something to do with my GPU and games, seeing how it only changes while playing a game and not the desktop.

Has anyone had this happen? Everything was just fine the other day and now poof this lol

Specs if you want to know.

GPU: GTX 970
CPU: Intel i5 4670k
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Windows 10

Try stripping out the gpu drivers DDU guru3d.com and reinstall.

Could be physical, try a different dvi port or hdmi port cable.

I had a bad dvi port that did similar in SE V2 where the game looked like a negative but the screen shot was perfect when I posted it to a trouble shooting forum and 2d was fine too, so I switched to the other port and it worked fine.

Thanks, I will try this when I have a chance today.

I've seen this before: a loose monitor cable can cause this, I've also seen it it SLI systems. In those cases I fixed it by swapping the card order or the SLI bridge.

+1

The screen shot should show the exact same thing you see, if the screen shot looks normal, then it doesn't sound like it's software related, but hardware.

It's most likely a cable connection or even a failing video port (the latter usually isn't the issue) - then again, the issue could simply be the monitor. So do the basic troubleshooting:

Reseat cables on the monitor and GPU.
Test the video cable on another monitor.
Test the monitor on another computer.
Try a different cable type (if you're using DVI to DVI and your monitor & GPU both support HDMI, try a HDMI cable).

Nvm problem solved. Some how after updating my GPU it turned on 3D settings by itself.
