why 60hz on 100hz monitor look bad ?
recently ive got a new 100hz monitor, my old monitor was 60hz. while playing rdr 2 i notice that when i change the refresh rate to 60hz (on my 100hz monitor) the camera motion look unsmooth. Btw my monitor does not support gsync so i always use vsync to get rid of the tearing

Everyone recently i just realized that 60hz on a 120hz is better than on a 100hz. Because my monitor is 100hz so its sweet spot gonna be 100hz 75hz 50hz, unlike 120hz sweet spot are 120hz, 90hz, 60z. The sweet spot of each monitor is its highest refresh rate minus 25% of it

In conclusion if u want a smooth 60fps on a high refresh rate monitor u should choose a monitor which have a refresh rate divisible by 60
I have a 120Hz TV and don't see much difference between 60Hz, 50Hz and 100Hz. I mean the more the better but no problems if it's not evenly divided from 120.

I believe that the main problem is lack of VRR/FreeSync/G-Sync support.

Did you actually set your display to 60 Hertz in Windows, before playing the game?

Playing a game in full screen or in windowed mode can also have an effect.

66/75% is uneven frame pacing too

50/33/25% are duplicating even numbers of frames, will not be as jittery

I thought vrr should prevent this

Get someone to display two displays side by side. Ill guarantee they notice an oddness about 60fps on 120hz display. And the 60fpa on a 60hz display will look normal. Theres a weird vibration, pulsating effect. Vrr gsync doesnt fix it.

I really doubt if OP knows the difference between FPS and hertz....

It is not necessary, because if the monitor is 60.1Hz or 59.9Hz, which in some cases it is (it is not an exact frequancy) this cannot happen, or if it does, it will be every 10 frames.

In order for there to be no screen tearing, there must be synchronization between the frames of the video card and the refresh of the monitor, if there isn't no wonder why this happens.
Otherwise, if you have a super high fps at low hertz monitor, there is still screen tearing, but it's way harder to notice
