steam does not have any mobile games

you can use a browser to buy games and chat etc..

there is a steam app for mobile to buy/install games on your pc, and chat
and steam link app to stream games from your pc to phone

you can stop using steam on pc for as long as you want. the account will still have the games on it, and you can download/install them on any pc you log in to with your account

As far as downloading and playing games, NO.
You must use the Steam Client on a PC with Linux, MacOS or Win10/11
Signing into Steam on a mobile device just allows for non-Game stuff Steam has; such as this Forum right here (aka Community Discussions) as well as Steam Store and Friends.

Yes for that you can do that.
Just can't play the games on mobile devices.
However Steam Chat within a Browser will not work correctly, as it is not designed for touch.
That would require the Steam Chat App.

Why would it not support any apps? Is that an iPhone or Android?
If iPhone, which model?
If Android, which version of Android?
Steam Chat works on Android as old as 5.xx

Using the Steam Store and Forums in Web Browser is fine though. I've been using that method on mostly all devices, even when I'm on my gaming PC; for many years now. Due to how sluggish and RAM consuming the Steam Client can be for such things. Plus in the Steam Client, its a horrible browser experience anyways because if I click Steam Store, then click over to Community; it's possible the page will auto refresh and screw up me trying to type out something in the forum if I happen to need to go source out some info, forcing me to use my other web browser anyways; so I just do everything not related to Steam Market, Steam Workshop or Steam Library/Games; within my web browser anyways.

Why would you buy games on Steam if you don’t have a PC to play them on? Very few games get delisted and the price on games almost always decreases over time so why wouldn’t you just wait until you get a new PC to play on and then buy the games you want when they are on a sale?
