My pc got auto-reboot problem during game
Mother board is asus z97-pro with intel 4790k and GTX770 on it.
PSU is Thermaltake toughpower Gold 750w.
I bought that pc for 2 years, but since last year it got random auto-reboot problem during the game, like Fallout4, world of tanks, war thunder, csgo, red orchestra 2...
Most of the time it happens on map change(CSGO/RO2), or start-up the game(WOT/Warthunder), Fallout4 it happens on looting.

At first I thought my cpu overheated and caused the problem so I installed 2 additional case fans and replaced a better cpu fan, but my computer still random reboot during the game.

Now Im thinking about my PSU. But I dont have any experience on PSU problem, although I did order a PSU tester or some kind of voltmeter to test my PSU( should be arrived tonight).

My second thought was BIOS overclock setting. Although I never touch that part on BIOS but z97 was built to overclock and it might be running under an unstable default overclock setting for a long time.

Any suggest?

Search for “Event Viewer,” select “System” under “Windows Logs,” and look for “Error” messages. Look for any entries near the time the computer crashed and report what was the error message.

Also even with the new fans you might want to use a program like HWMonitor to see how hot your computer gets while gaming. (If you only have 1 monitor you can use msi afterburner and set cpu and gpu temps to be shown while gaming do not just alt tab to see temps because the temps can easily drop quickly when you alt tab)

we need specs like a cpu-z validation link or something to determine your bios settings.. could be the psu,ram errors,over-heating etc.. the auto reboot is due to crashing and your computer is set to auto-retsart on critical errors so there will be details in event viewer.. what are your gpu drivers?? use a program to monitor temps while gaming as well

post a cpuz validation link
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here

will show any overclocks and ram settings

Well its not the temp. problem because I got new cpu fans which never let my cpu temp go up 40c even in game. And my graph card temp is low too. Like right now my cpu is 21c, graphcard is 23c, and motherboard is 25c.
I had checked my event viewer many times but it only show something like "the crash at XXX(time) was unexpected" then its just a bunch of kernel-event tracing or something else during booting, but nothing about the time when system forced to reboot.

Here it is

the specs look fine

check temps while gaming
use hwmonitor, it logs min/max temps
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
alt+tab takes long enough for the cpu/gpu to drop 20+c

the cpu is fine to 90-100c, it will throttle at its max temp
similar with the gpu

Something is telling me you're going to need good reformatting~ My favorite if-all-else-fails option

Problem is sometime when I start up the game like wot or war thunder it didnt give cpu time to overheat... the pc reboot when I access the game lobby right after a successful log in.. That sucks. But I will do the the monitor with game test, just hope the pc wont reboot

I did the test, the first time I log in war thunder, rebooted....
After reboot I log in war thunder again, and quit. The highest was like 45
Then I played csgo with HWMonitor, after 1 match with a map change I quit.
The max cpu temp was 55c on mother board, on core was 58c on core #1 and package
graphcard temp was 49c max
And I did a failed stress test, 5 sec after I started my test, the pc cut off power and reboot

you can also try updating bios and chipset/mobo drivers

And I did another stress test, this time it succeed. After 5 min my cpu tmp on mother board part reached 58c, core temp held on 60c, graphcard max was 55c

Well this was the first thing I did when I got this auto-shutdown-reboot problem. I upgraded all the driver and BIOS
if you have a spare quality psu like seasonic M12II 600w+, use it.

possibility of unstable/inadequate power supply during gameplay.

Well I just received my PSU voltmeter or something, and I will do some test with that but I doubt I could find anything wrong because I dont know how to use it yet....
