Is a gaming laptop worth it?
I will be completely honest I despise laptops in all aspects but I think I can manage..MAYBE! Anyways im a peasent stuck with some general purpose lenovo and im thinking about making an upgrade, im an all out pc person but im on a tight budget and im not sure if a laptop is worth it ethier. I hate laptop keyboards so bad but I think I can get used to it, sure theres mobility and stuff but I dont know if I should get a gaming laptop. What are your guys opinions on gaming laptops?

Tight budget? Already got an adequate laptop? Don't get a laptop. Get a desktop all the way. Now only can you stream your game to your laptop around the house, the desktop will always be more powerful for the money. With a laptop, unless you're getting that Alienware thing with the GPU dock, it will degrade over time. I had a GTX 660 and now I upgraded to a 970 with ease, but then again, it always is how you'll use it. For college? If your current laptop is too slow, get a better laptop for around $400-$500 (Surface pro fits here nicely) then put the rest of your budget to a desktop. It will still be more powerful depending on how low your budget is. Traveling in the air from location to location? A gaming laptop would be for you.

I don't have a laptop right now and I was planning on a PC but I don't know where to go now, I want a pc cause I just like them overall better but having something portable is also nice to.

What is your budget? Do you already have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse?
I see what I can work with depending on the budget for laptop or Desktop.

Are any of these stores close to you?

For me, unless it has a 10 series card in it, I think of gaming laptop as an oxymoron.

The thing I find with them as well, you have to spend enough to feed a third world country to get what would be considered a decent one.

Unless you really need it to be portable, get a desktop.

I was and still are going to invest in a desktop but for the future I was wondering if there were any decent ones for long trips and such.

For gaming right now there are no worthwhile laptops for a fair price even if you find a laptop at a good price it will have a 960m or worse which are VERY underpowered compared to their desktop counterparts

You're better off buying a 3ds than a laptop for on the go gaming

Well for csgo any 6th gen i3 with a integrated gpu would be fine (even a pentium would be acceptable)

That won't get you much I'd advise to wait and see what the 1050 can do when it's released
