samsung 860 evo sata M.2 not found
i know its reciving power cause it has the led that glows on and off but my computer just cant seem to find it.

specs
asus z370e
gtx 1080ti
i7 8700k
a 500gb 850 evo ssd
the 1 terrabyte 860 evo (the one thats having issues)
32gigs of ddr4
a cheep 50$ asus sata disk drive

Do you mean it isn't showing up in My Computer or it even isn't recognized in BIOS?

Both but it’s receiving power
If it's not recognized by the MB, then it's likely there is a fault with the SSD. Try to resit it.

Faulty hardware doesn't mean it has to blow up in smoke and flame first.

The problem could be with mb too if you have another m.2 slot try it, also check if that mb has new bios update .

i do have a second slot but its under a bit of metal thats screwed on under my gpu...
Check for BIOS update. Load optimized defaults and reboot BIOS.
Check your motherboard booklet to see if M2 isn't conflict with your SATA hard drive.
turns out im dumb and plugged it into a PCI m.2 slot, now time to take out the gpu to install it into the right slot
