Change Interface Button Layout: xBox to Nintendo
Hi everybody,

is there a way to switch the interface buttons from xbox layout to nintendo layout?
i use a snes usb gamepad wich is recognized as a xbox360 controller... so i get the A B Y X for xbox controllers and it confuses a lot, if you use a snes controller.

maybe someone could help me?

Many of us have had the same issue when using playstation controllers. You get used to it after a week or so daily play. After practice you'll instinctively press the corresponding button without thinking about it.

Not sure if there is a solution. I honestly never bothered trying to find a solution. Chances are it'd be platform specific and wouldn't work outside of Steam and then it'd get confusing seeing two different sets of prompts for the same controller......least for me it would.
No, there is no magic setting that will set the button prompt to the Nintendo Controller Layout for any game. Your controller communicates via the XInput API.

If the game uses the SIAPI and your controller is listed as a Switch supported controller ( https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5199-TOKV-4426 ), then you'll get "Nintendo Button prompts" inside games (?).

I think only games with the "full controller support" label enable such a behaviour.

There might be community/user modifications for some games out there.

steam -> settings -> controller -> [general controller settings]
select the controller, define layout to remap

That only means that once you start the game, everything can be done with the controller. It has nothing to do with which models are supported.
