Right now with the current sales going on you can get a ryzen 5 2600 system with an xfx rx580 8gb and 16gb of ram for $750 to 800 usd depening on what case, powersupply, and storage you go for.

i dont know much about computers but $750 sounds a bit cheap for a gaming pc, i mean my laptop is $1200 and it can barely ru coolmathgames

You said that you were looking to play siege which i assume is rainbow six siege. I am running a 4th gen i5 and a rx 570 and getting 60fps on high, the buil that i linked has a ryzen 5 2600 and rx 580 which will perform better. If you have more money to spend an i7 8700 or 9700 with a 1080, 2070, 1080ti, or 2080ti will run most games maxed.

Laptops are generally more expensive than desktops of similar performance because of portability and branding. Also manufacturing costs are higher. Desktop components have better price to performance because there is more demand and competition.

I am going to concur. Desktops and laptops are different products with different price points. Also, the cost itself isn't a good metric to go by because you can easily overspend on a prebuilt or a laptop if you don't know what you're shopping for.

That $1200 doesn't have a guarantee of a good GPU after all, the only guarantee is that the price was $1200.

if you are willing to buy second hand an i5-2400/2500 or i7-2600/3770 system + decent gpu cost around 150-400 but new as was said above around 500-700 for a decent build...

Ever ran Cinebench on that laptop? Lets see how much more performance you can get by paying less.
