Overclock my GPU

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz

Video Card
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

RAM
16 GB

Operating System
Microsoft Windows 10 (build 17134), 64-bit

I want to overclock my gpu never had experience overclocking. Got msi afterburner wondering what i should do?

It's a locked CPU so you can't overclock the core frequencies.

So that restricts me by not being able to overclock my GPU, not my CPU

Sorry, didn't see the 'G'. You can overclock the GPU though since it's only a 1050Ti I wouldn't push it too hard.

On the core and memory go up +10 increments until it becomes unstable.

I Kind of dont want to keep increasing till my gpu is unstable i want a safe value that will be noticable but wont keep me worrying about it

That's how overclocking works I'm afraid. If you are scared, worried or just plain uncomfortable about overclocking then don't do it.

Can't do that. You could have 2 identical builds and what OC works on one may not work on the other or the other may do better.

You increase to it becomes unstable then reduce it to when it was stable as you know thats the most you can go without issues.

I have the PALIT GTX 1050 Ti STORMX in my second rig, and thrown 700MHz on the memory and 200MHz on the core clock, power limit to max, can run plenty of games with those setting all stable..

GTX 970 is a upgrade from a GTX 1050 Ti

Pascal gpus have a sort of brick wall for one, and two, since this is only a low end gpu, u can't push far anyways. Just click the tiny chain icon to unlink power boost and temp limit and raise the power boost to the max allowed. Firstly though click Settings and change the skin to a Dragon one and apply so you can see the correct options for newer gpus. Then on the first page, set to Kernel Mode and untick all the unlocks there and apply.
