I would focus on your PSU / GPU and monitor:

Seasonic FOCUS Gold SSR-650FM[www.amazon.com] $83

ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2070[www.newegg.com] $480 ($510 w/ $30 MIR)

MSI Optix MAG27CQ 1440p 144Hz FreeSync 27” Curved 1800R[www.amazon.com] $395

Upgrade the GPU and PSU. Get a Radeon RX 5700 (XT) once it releases, a RTX 2070 or better. Replace the PSU with a quality 550w or 650w unit if you upgrade the GPU to a higher-end one.

RAM is all you need for gaming, no need to change anything here.

Upgrading the CPU isn't really worth it and will require you to also replace the motherboard. That ultra-budget A320 board will not support new Ryzen 3000 CPUs. Even if they did release a BIOS update which has support for Ryzen 3000 I would highly recommend against putting one of these CPUs in to this board.
your motherboard is low end and may not support newer and faster ryzen

you better buy everything new: ryzen 3000 series + new gen mobo.
sell your old pc to offset cost.

if you want to just buy parts, wait till ryzen 3000 series is launched and see what is the fastest ryzen cpu is supported by your mobo. you need to update the BIOS.
imo, cpu and quality psu is enough for your 1080p (or less) gaming needs.

+1 for new pc

you may be able to reuse the ram, but if its slower than 3000 or cl higher than 16 get a new kit when you can

the 1060 6g is ok for 1080p60hz gaming

If you have that kind of money to spend it`s probably better to just sell your old PC and build a new one. Reason being that you have rubbish motherboard and PSU and it looks to be some small case with short graphics card and micro-ATX motherboard that has probably problems with room and cooling fitting more powerful graphics card.
You can build something like this for $1200 and save some of that money on top of what you get from your old PC:

What monitor do you have? Any plans to upgrade? What type of games do you play?

With $1500 budget, why upgrade? Just build a brand new rig, maybe keep the RAM sticks if they are DDR4 3000 or above.

do not safe money on cheap parts like that a320 mobo...

You might buy a GTX TITAN Z with that budget but you also will need to replace PSU with a 750W or higher one.

The Titan Z is a 5 year old GPU which gets nuked by even the 1070.

Agree the 1600 / a320 not the best but far from the worst, sufficient enough to get by - upgrade it on the next round.

Skip ^ 3:40 recap starts, even at stock the 1600 is okish and an RTX2070 or alike + PSU would be your best bet.

Mutuals. Go to your bank and invest your $. You don't NEED an upgrade.

Just sayin'

Will I still be able to play games in good quality with these upgrades even though I’m still using the same CPU?

Easily, the Ryzen 1600 is still a great CPU.

ryzen 1600 is similar to a 3770k in games
https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-3770K-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-1600/1317vs3919

many have already upgrdaded from 2nd-3rd gen i series intel cpus
