Yes, and no. Additionally VRAM plays a bigger role in modern games. And that's where the 970 has issues due to that 3.5+0.5GB nonsense nVidia pulled to save money.
think of this GTA V does not depends on the GPU so much but on the CPU which is mostly resposible of the FPS...
really bad example. ANd no 970 is not good enough for serios VR. Low end VR games will run but the AAA VR titles not really.
Also GTA V is very old really not the way to measure the prformance of hardware. If you want to measure performance of current hardware take games like: Mass Effect Andromeda, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Total War: Warhammer II...
Fallout 4 VR as example, Star Trek Bridge Crew, Project cars 2, LA Noire, Doom, Elders Scroll.... want me to continue? also alot of AAA VR titles are already announced.
I don't think my HD 6950 is terrible and that's 560ti-570 range.
VR is a gimmick still, fun for a bit to mess around with, but its still a novelty.
Right now it is, might become so accurate and advanced 5 years down the line that theres eSports involved with it xd
I still hold hope that it becomes better in the future. Like I said, Its fun to mess around with at the moment but nothing thats mind blowing.
