Very true.
Overall, a single 1080 is still VERY good and if it runs all your stuff fine, I don't see the rush to upgrade. Best bet is hold on to that (again weight your options and personal choices/wants/needs) and see if it is worth it to you for what all you need it for. As it might make more sense for many, to keep using current GPU until say 1180 or 2080 (whatever the next gen ends up being named) comes along instead.
- 1440p with high refresh rate of 165HZ
- UltraHD 4K
- Nvidia Surround (3 or more multi-monitors)
If not, you won't even notice the additional FPS gain from the Ti version. There's no justification in cost to performance ratio gain. If you are using 60Hz refresh rate on the monitor, then forget it completely.
Just Wait till you see what Zotac does with the 1080ti, it'll make your eyes bleed hahahaha.
If they release a 1080 ti Amp Extreme hybrid edition I'll buy 2.
Also funny to note NVidia ceased production of the Titan X Pascal several weeks ago, why? because they are about to be made utterly redundant.
That 35% is just how damn good the reference 1080 Ti is. The 3rd party cards will be even more awesome.
I'm sure it's mark up value (at least here in New Zealand) will be crazy for a while early on when selling like hot cakes.
35% is a nice figure and all, but how does that play in real-world result. Your graphics card can only dish out as much as the monitor can handle. Therefore it's more logical to ensure what monitor will be running it can actually make use of the additional frames, rather than just discarding them to the waste.
amd is also reproted to launch rebranded 500 series gpu in april 2017 (?). better clocks, better memory so also a good consideration to buy.
