Endless bot-Friend requests
Steam employes, please do something about the endless amount of bots who spam me with friend requests. Every day when I log on, I have a number of new friend requests from accounts I don't know and they all have steam level 0, thus indicating it's a fresh account, or not used for much.

These are most likely bots, scammers, phishers or any combination of them and are not just an annoyance to me, but most likely a security problem as well.

Are there any measures being taken to stop this flood fake user accounts?
Can I get a moderator answer to this? Just a simple aknowledgement of the problem?

There are probably plenty of ways to stop the annoyance at least, just make a little box you could tick in the settings where you could automaticly decline friend requests from accounts with no triple A games, younger than 1 year, money spent less than 50€, steam level, failed to pass a not-a-robot test.

I'm getting sick of the constant 1 message in the top right corner.

Use the search engine please. This has been discussed to death.

Steam has done all they can. Users need to stop getting scammed and the bots will disappear. Some users get hijacked by malware programs and scammers. So you can't just run around banning accounts. Many of those accounts are legit. This isn't a simple issue to fix and your security is your responsibility at the end of the day.

Just ignore / block any invites you dont know OR.... add them, contact them and see if they are real ppl. If they dont answer or the profile suggests they wont be a good steam friends just remove them. Remember you have the power. Stay in control.

I blocked a good number when I first started using steam and now I hardly get any. Any that dont talk back after I send a chat request get unlisted. It may be brutal but if they cant be bothered to chat you have to ask, why did they bother adding you at all!?!

There are many discussions, the best way I see is for users with a CC to have a verified physical mail sent to that address with an activation code, that way you say accept only verified-steam-user friend requests, it would weed out most bot accounts. I think non CC physical address verification could still be got around.

I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tired with this ♥♥♥♥ too, seriously. Add an option for letting us block friends requests from Steam users lvl 0 and/or with a private profile.

Edit @Below : Indeed, then like i said with this and/or : An option to block friends requests from private profiles.

Private profiles are ALWAYS level 0 to you if you aren't friends with them. I bet my level shows as 0 to you too. People that are literally level 0 can't even send friend requests.

The thing is, I'm fed up with blocking them, but as a normal human being, I can't stand having that (1) new message in the upper right corner all the time, so I have to go and block them everyday. ♥♥♥♥ needs to be tidy bro.

I'm just asking for an option where they get blocked automaticly, and without me being notified of it.

You aren't the first person to ask. There are tons of other threads asking for it too. You should contribute to those instead of starting another one.
