Exchange games for discounts.
Hi all. I think many people have had this situation. You decided to purchase a game that was just released on steam, but the developer of this game has stopped releasing updates. I propose to add the ability to exchange games that are not supported by the developer for discounts.

Make better purchasing choices. You are asking to either have the money taken from the devs and then used as a discount towards your purchase or are asking Valve to front the bill for that which neither of the two scenarios will occur.

I'm not asking you to take money from the developers) I suggested releasing a system of discounts for those games that have not been updated for a long time
Developers get to choose when their games have discounts. And you can't expect a game to receive updates forever.

Did I say that the game should be updated forever?
I'm just saying that if the game is not updated for example for more than a year, "EXAMPLE" battlebit remastered. then you can exchange it for a discount.

It's implied by your complaint about games that are no longer updated.

This already exists, just ask the developer to reduce the price. They can do that whenever they want.
Or do you mean turn a game from your library into some sort of coupon? Coupons have already been retired.

That's right. Make it possible to exchange a game that has not been updated for a fairly long period of time, like the example of battlebit remastered. But with the condition that the game should not be older than 2 years.

You're asking the wrong company to have good features
Nx Machina Feb 10 @ 12:41am
WITHIN 2 weeks of purchase AND with LESS than 2 hours playtime.

You have 485 hours on Battlebit Remastered and reviewed it 21 Feb 2024.

Ok. How does this contradict my proposal?

Who is going to pay for that Discount?

Why would Valve give you money/discount for a game?
They can make infinite number of keys/games without any cost they dont need your copy.

Dont buy games if you are not happy with their current state.

The buyer pays for the discount) Example: I bought a game, the developer promised to support his game, but did not bother to do so. I am exchanging a game I purchased for a discount. It's simple

Why should Valve or other developers pay for your discounts? They have nothing to do with the developer you purchased your game from and that developer itself most certainly wont pay for your discounts as they don't have anything to do with other developer products either.

Neither Valve nor the publisher of the game you 'exchange' get anything from you when you return the digital license (spoiler: there are unlimited digital licenses). So Valve would end up paying the difference for the 'discount' to the publiher of the game you purchase.

The player pays for the discount by purchasing the game)

I buy a game, more than a month passes and my money goes to the account of the game publisher and the valve percentage. The game disappoints me with the quality of updates and I exchange it for a discount and buy another game. Circulation system. Everyone will get money.
