Yeah, this is getting more annoying as time goes by...
I can tolerate it on the store (now that it doesn't crash), forums, and profile pages, since I'm actively reading those when I have them open (then close them or change pages after) but it's a problem for me that they run on the FRIEND LIST.
I keep having to remove people from my favorites bar and collapse categories so that my CPU doesn't sit at 18% usage when I'm literally just idle. (As opposed to 6% when I remove all of that stuff).
This also somewhat defeats the point of using the Steam client for friends at all, especially given that most of my friends are already on other platforms (that I am not yet) and harder to reach on Steam. It really takes away from the "all-in-one" experience that Steam was going for by adding all of these social features onto it in the first place, given that they are becoming more inconvenient to use.
