Activating product in the browser.
First of all there is this link, where you can activate games in your browser:
https://store.steampowered.com/account/registerkey

1. So there is a mistake on this "help" page in the "important" section, saying, that steam web site cannot be used for activating games.
2. Why don't you add this button in the website interface?

There is no mistake. The link was only intended for legit sites to give it to their customers to use.

The link exists - statement "you cannot activate via site" is false - there is mistake.

Cool smile btw, qr code told interesting things about talos principle.
But why was it used?

No direct pathway to that page hence, the link itself. It was never intended to be accessed by any other means.

I like it.

Install Augmented Steam

https://es.isthereanydeal.com/

go to Options/General/Context Menu/Activate steam product keys within selection

You'll be able to activate even multiple retail keys at once which comes in handy when you bought a game bundle.
