360 controller issues with portal 2 coop on mac

Hi everyone !

I tried to find a solution on internet and even contacted the steam support but I couldn't get any solution.

I'm using two Xbox 360 controllers on steam and they just work fine with my games but I can't fully play in cooperative mode in portal 2 as the button supposed to fire a portal for player 2 actually triggers player 1 portal gun.

Do you have any idea how to fix it ?

you need to configure the 2nd controller

use console commands
joy_remap_player_for_controller1 1
joy_remap_player_for_controller2 2

joy_remap_player_for_controller(controller # 1-4) (player # 1/2, 0 is disabled)
should fix it

Thank you a lot for answering this fast.

However, in Portal 2, calling the console in coop mode and then typing joy_remap_player_for_controller1 1 get me "Unknown command: joy_remap_player_for_control"…

There seems to be an autocompletion and nothing begins with joy_remap actually…

I have tried different thing and none of them worked.
