Transfer of Steam to new Pc

After 3 requests to Steam Support who have replied without answering the question.
Can someone help please?
I have a new PC. My old Pc has my account, games and saves on it.
I wish to transfer all this info to my new Pc.
How do i do it?
I realise that i have to download the Steam account to my new Pc.
I also know that Steamapps and Steam.exe is important, but i have a Steam.exe.old file. What is that?
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

If you don't care / don't have to care about your bandwidth you can just redownload your games on your new PC, the saves should be cloud saved and sync when your games have downloaded.

What I do in your situation however is simply copy my steamapps folder to my new computer.

In my case I would copy D:\Steam\SteamApps to wherever I installed steam to on my new computer. Once you have copied it run steam on your new computer and just click the "Install" button for whatever game you want to play, it will verify all the files are correct and launch.

You don't have to transfer your account info to your new computer, just log into steam on that machine and it will be there.

^ Not all games support Steam Cloud for saves. Check this by right mouse clicking the game, choosing properties and seeing the 'Updates' -tab. So you might have to look for the saves folder with some games, usually they're located under C:\User\[Username]\Documents or in %appdata%

Ya was forgetting about that, I always backup my documents and user folder when doing something like this, its just automatic for me so I overlooked it sry.

What about steam achievements how can I get them to my new steam or is it automatic also?

Achievements are saved on your account, not your PC.

ok. thnx. Thought they might be somewhere else, since I once lost one games achievements after I had to reinstall windows.
