You have an alert from Steam Support
So I ended up purchasing the Humble Warner Brothers Bundle and for some reason my credt card ended up revoking the purchase without my knowledge. I've been dealing with Humble Support for a while and in the end my games ended up being revoked from my account. I understand and accept this and I have checked off the "I have read this message" check box for all the games being revoked and I closed the window. Yet I still have an alert from Steam Support in the top bar of my Steam. How do I get rid of this? I have gone through these same messages 5 times now trying to get rid of them, and I have deleted the games from my account. Any idea?

Contact Steam support, they maybe thinking you're having a fraud purchases or keys.

Thanks, I sent Steam Support an email. Hopefully they won't ban me or anything for just a stupid pre-paid credit card mishap.

They won't if you explain it to them.

I bought a bundle from a guy i now believe has used a fraudulent credit card which is why i got my games removed from my account. It sucks but the biggest part that sucks most of all is this huge red banner at the top of steam with an alert that won't go away. Already reinstalled too, sent a support ticket, and they are giving me run of the mill answers.

I would have never traded and will never trade again for a humble bundle game ever again.

Did you just get the banner today?
you know what i find fishy... i dont even have a support tab any more... i cant even report anything... i believe my steam accnt is hacked and i cant even contact support because my steam browser has no more support tab to click....

well u brought urself in this position just saying.. because steam clearly says only trade crap that can be putted in the trade window.. so anything else is on urself.

ye i know that sucks but somehow u gotta take responibility for your own fault, hopefully steam gives u an pass on this but if they dont u learned a vital lesson dont ever trade stuff that cant be in the trade window.

You obviously are not part of the trade community that's not how it works, you have no idea how many people will argue with you about that statement.

It's not that buying a CD key is a bad thing in anyway from anyone if they are well known, have a resonable amount of rep and even decided to go first. Humble bundles were JUST starting to get known to have a major problem with people using fraudulent credit cards because of humble bundles new credit card system (not just them allowing paypal and amazon payments like before). Us honest traders got scammed by these horrible individuals exploiting this before we knew this would happen.

There was no way to tell who was using a fraudulent credit card. It is a lesson learned absolutely, do not trade for humble bundles when they are brand new, waiting a while can be a good thing.

And of course it's my responsiblity, im not even going after the guy. I've moved on from it and rebought the games. But to say that I brought this on myself from trading in game items for a CD key shows you have no idea truly how trading works.

its a risk you have to take when trading outside of steam unfortunately =(

i have done over 1000 trades :) so im pretty sure i am in the trade community just not on this account but on my other ;)

though i have slowed down with trading and such im not that outdated as of how the community work, i didnt say trading keys never happens or trading humble bundle gift links never happen, i said ;

"well u brought urself in this position just saying.. because steam clearly says only trade crap that can be putted in the trade window.. so anything else is on urself."

its users that thought trading keys etc were steams problem aswell but it isnt its in the FAQ dont trade with people u dont know and dont trade outside of the steam trade window otherwise its pretty much on yourself.. u chose to ignore thats on u.

Your Tradeban gone?
Flapjack Willy Apr 14, 2016 @ 10:04am
Yep, been gone for a while. Red banner only lasts for about 2 weeks after contacting steam support and explaining the situation.
