Please stop emailing me codes
My family computer room has multiple computers, including a couple used by the kids. I set this up on a gaming computer and while troubleshooting the horrible performance decided to load it up on a different computer to rule out computer specific issues.

When you log in from a different computer you have to go to your email and get a new code, which is a major pain in the arse but I get it. I then tried to log on from the first computer and I had to go get another code from my email... again?? This is going to get old really quickly in my house.

I bought a minecraft account and the kids can both play it at the same time on different computers so why is Lego Worlds being restricted to one computer and forcing me to get pins in email to do it? Is there an option to turn this email verification off? I'd PAY AN EXTRA $16 to not have this email verification protecting my original $16 purchase, ya know?

Are you logging into Steam inside the browser? If so, your browser may be wiping Steam's cookies at the end of your session, causing Steam to think it's a new device again.

If you've logged in before, to the Steam client, on the old machine, then you shouldn't need to authenticate it again. I don't know why you have to. Maybe try to make Steam remember your password? I dunno...

You can turn off this sort of e-mail verification of new devices, but I think that would mean turning off SteamGuard, which also locks you out of some community features (trading and using the Community Market) because your account will be essentially considered a security risk to other users.

Yes, I am logging into Steam from inside my browser and yes, I do wipe cookies clean on every browser close. I do this for security reasons. I do not allow my computer to remember passwords either. While I can hear you thinking "well then that's your problem" I just want to point out that it's not a problem on any other game :/

My son is young, I'd actually prefer he not read messages from others, so if turning off "SteamGuard" solves my problem AND blocks community features that's fine. There really should be options for ME to choose how I want it to run though.

Is there a way to turn steamwebhelper too? or the overlay? Lego Worlds is killing my CPU usage on it's own right now, like 4x what Warcraft uses even with the worst settings, and these extra features I don't use would free up resources if I could turn them off.

Actually this isn't a game problem at all, just a Steam login problem (or feature).

If you use the browser inside the Steam client itself, however, this shouldn't be a problem. Your Steam login in the client's own browser should be tied to your Steam client login.

You can disable SteamGuard in the Steam settings. Do just make sure you read up on what SteamGuard is and what it does and doesn't do before you disable it, of course.

You may also be interested in the Family View feature, which allows you to have Steam restrict various features, such as Friends list, Community features, access to the Store, access to specific games, etc., without having to disable SteamGuard.

I am not familiar with these issues so I can't help with them, sorry.

They are programs I see running in my task manager. They seem to run even when I'm not playing a game on Steam. I turned them off but they turn themselves on apparently. I uninstalled Steam on another computer and I still see steamwebhelper.exe turning itself on.

I'm new to steam, I just want Lego Worlds for my kids... not all the extra hassle. Thanks for the help.

Cool, looking into these options now.

You know, what I would REALLY want, is a way for my kids to play Lego Worlds in offline mode. They play Minecraft in their own worlds and only invite friends via LAN (we have a computer room with a bunch of computers). Is there a way to just play Lego Worlds offline without needing to run all the community stuff ?
