Download Speeds

Hey guys, I have a small problem. I am currently download NBA 2K14, but it's only download at 1.1MB/s. Typically, on other programs - like Origin while download BF4, or even Google Chrome. I download things around 12MB/s-15MB/s.

The max I can normally get on steam is 2.6ish. Is there a setting on my computer that caps the download speeds steam can use? I already set the cap (from steam) to 25MB/s

I just did an internet speed test, my ping is 9ms, download 34.91MB/s, upload 17.09MB/s.

When using download sites and programs such as Steam it is usually not your internet that is the limiter, in this case Steam has so many users constantly downloading things that 1-2 MB/s is the usual speed. Atleast in my case it is.

1.1 MB/s is perfectly fine speed to be downloading anything.

It's not a terrible speed, I'm just used to things download much more quickly.

Yeah, im in Tasmania, with a glorious maximum speed of 2.5 MB/s xD

Was watching a streamer that was downloading an update of a game at 80 MB/s, in that instant i realized how sh*t my download speed was compared to some.

I can help. This happened to me when i got Payday 2 Day One what happens is that if to many people are downloading at the same time as you the steam servers lag in a way like a loop hole I figured out was that if you change your country that you are from to a small third world country you download faster like I said that I was from Luxenborge and it went up by at least 0.4gb/m

VERY EASY. increase ur donwload speed to highest ever! mine was 100+kb/s, but if u switch ur region to ukraine in steam downlaod settings, its much faster! Now im downloadin at 5mb/s
