Steam voice chat not working with Focusrite 2i2 audio interface mic line.
As the title indicates, I cannot get steam voice chat to work with the 2i2 mic line-in. I can use other microphones (like my logitech webcam or headset) just fine, but if I try and use the one plugged into my audio interface then no dice.

The microphone works fine for recording voice in other programs (like Sonar, mumble or audacity). Steam's voice chat is the only one that seems to have any issues. I really would prefer to use my bluebird mic in steam, because its a much better mic than the other ones I have available. Also, whatever you have configured in the steam voice chat settings seem to used in a lot of games as well.

Hi! I'm also experiencing this, I need this to work. After spending $99 on the audio box and then a near equivalent amount on the mic-arm, and then somewhere between two hundred and three hundred dollars on the Rode nt1a I will be extremely upset if Steam fails to add support for the Focusrite 2i2 audio interface mic line.

I was able to fix it by swapping my mic input into the left channel of the 2i2. For whatever reason, that fixed it.

if you use the scalret 2i2 2nd gen it works when you use the left input ;)

I just had this problem and found this thread. The problem was solved when I changed from the right to the left XLR input!
Hope this helps you too! GL.
