Is it illegal to have 2 steam accounts?

I don't want 2 steam accounts, the only reason I created the second one, which was like 3 days ago, was because I dont know the information to my other account. With that being said I have already contacted support and I am trying to figure out my login information so I can play my games that I purchased from steam years ago ( this account was created years ago).

Anyways, I wanted to start gaming again and just created a new account because I couldn't remember the old login credentials to my original steam account.

If im lucky I might be able to regain my old account information back as well as my games that I had purchased. If this happens I would be more than welcome to delete this current steam account. I am one to follow the rules not break them and since I don't know steams policy on multiple accounts I have felt like a criminal for like the past 3 days having this account. Even though all I am doing on it is gaming...

Can somebody give me some ideas on how I should feel about this situation, or how I should feel or do??

Steam doesn't care, as long as you aren't trying to do anything shady with the second account.

It is not in general

It IS if you use them to violate the SSA or if you use them to violate the law such as using it for multiple accounts during a Valve contest who's rules stipulate only one person can enter

If you think Valve won't notice ask all the illegal coal mining people how violating legal contest rules went for their accounts

I have no intentions of doing anything bad/shady, or whatever word you could think of as "bad". Thats not me. Plus I don't even enter contests very rarely, and I wouldn't dare try to do something like that at all. Thats a quote from me thats guaranteed. Im just a guy trying to have some gaming fun.

you can have 10 Steam accounts with all free games installed and no one bats an eye...

but one smurf account on CSGO and then everyone loses their mind

lol thanks Astori Heichalot. If you don't mind me asking what is CSGO anyways? Not that im going to be that guy that uses whatever it is. I just like learning new things. I think we all do sometimes.
