After I exit Steam, and re-launch it, steam recognizes me playing a game, but the game isn't even open

This issue happens when I put my computer to sleep too. I've checked task manager and I can't find any game processes. So far the only thing i can do to stop this is restart my laptop, and that is super tedious after a while. is there any way to stop this?

Exactly how do you exit Steam?

Do you stop the game before exiting Steam?

You may have to just restart your computer. Sometime it happened on my computer when I exited the game and Steam said it is still running.

Open the taskmanager and check if the game is still running you highlight it and end tasks..

I close the game, I wait for the game to shut down, I exit Steam, I re-open steam, and the game is shown as running and I can't stop it or close steam again

Do you happens to know your system specs? CPU? RAM? GPU?
