[SOLVED] Steam Overlay suddenly no longer working in any non-steam game
Today, mid-day, my steam overlay stopped working for non-steam games. At all.

Not just does the hotkey not work, the overlay process doesn't start at all. This persists through restarts and such, and I didnt install any new software or change any settings. I've checked, and the steam overlay is enabled in settings, and does appear for steam games. It simply no longer appears for non-steam games, for which it worked 6 hours ago.

Please help, this renders my windows steam set-top box functionally useless.

As a note, No antiviruses or other interfering programs are running. (As shown by the fact it works perfectly fine with steam games. It's just not even trying to start the overlay process for some reason)

Update: Did a soft reset of steam, deleting all files in the steam folder except Steam.exe and Steamapps. No dice. I checked another non-steam game, and it worked fine. It is specifically Dolphin that is rejecting the steam overlay suddenly after working fine with it for months.

Meaning next step is to reinstall dolphin. Ugh.

Edit: Didnt work. If you have the same issue and are looking for a solution, here's my thread over at Dolphin Support, Maybe I'll get an answer there:

Edit 2: Got a solution for Dolphin and Overlay:

SET THE VIDEO BACKEND TO OPENGL.

THE VIDEO BACKEND HAS TO BE OPENGL FOR STEAM OVERLAY TO APPEAR.
