Having issues with all Easy Anti Cheat games
Hi. I hope someone here may be able to help me, so far all the "help" I've received is from people not reading my post and suggesting I do something I've already tried haha.

So, it seems to be that EAC is not working for some reason on my partners system.
For reference, nvidia gpu, ryzen cpu.

With paladins, she is able to get into a match before getting kicked, with dead by daylight, she can join a lobby but will be kicked before readying up. With beasts of bermuda it just crashes her on sight.

Things I have tried already
Reinstalling the game
Verifying the files of the game
Deleting all the files manually and reinstalling
repairing easy anti cheat from the game dir
reinstalling easy anti cheat from the game dir
I've verified the connectivity to the eac servers, all came through as it's supposed to.
Windows has no need for an update.
I've turned off the virus protection and firewall.
I've ensured the latest visual c++ is installed.
I've ran the sfc /scannow command with admin privs (it found some issues but fixed them, i then retried all the above to no avail.)

I really, really do not want to reinstall the computer. It's currently been going on for about a week now.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do here? Eac doesnt have any helplines so that's a bummer.

What error are they getting?

What OS are they using?
Sounds to be like a possible malware or virus might be interrupting things. Have you tried talking to Steam Support? It could be a Steam feature interfering with the software. That's been known to happen from time to time. If Steam Support can't help, I'd ask the developers of the game in question. See what they think. If they don't know either, I'd just buy a hard copy of the game myself. Hard copies don't ever update so you don't need to worry about things breaking. The only way to update a hard copy is to use either the official site or a third party site. Neither of which work for me personally. But it might be worth looking into if the above suggestions don't work for you.

Windows 10, they don't even get given an error for most games. For dead by daylight the error code 1

I have not tried talking to steam support, never really used them before unsure how I would start.
The devs have not been any help so far and the games do not have hard copies.

Quite troublesome haha, there's no virus on the device.

Just to be sure, no gaming/companion/RGB software either? EAC can throw a tantrum over the weirdest stuff of choice.

Nah nothing like that, literally just started randomly like four days ago. No adjustments have been made to the system or anything, just business as usual.

Yeah, I know that too. I figured I wouldn't need to state I've done something so obvious though haha. I tried, I could only find people who have had the issue, but none of them come back to the post, it either fixed itself for those people and they never came back or they gave up on the games.

I've also posted in the games specific discussion pages but noone there was very helpful, as I said they just told me to verify my files or something else that I've already stated I had done and then vanished. Or accused me of cheating haha.

It's quite hard to google it as it's a very vague issue I'm having with easy anti cheat rather than a specific game

Steam support won't help at all. They handle billing issues and any technical issues they will just tell you to go away and ask the game devs. Unfortunately it's going to be something super small and specific to your computer. I was playing AC6 just fine 2 days ago and it uses EAC so it's not a global problem with the anti cheat.

Did you ever find a fix for this? I'm having the same issue. PC was fine on 1/2/2024. Now Easy Anti Cheat games simply do not work at all on 1/4/2024. The only change I made was I bought and installed Escape From Tarkov.

No fix, there's simply no fix. You could try a full reinstall of your computer. None of the fixes online helped, contacting the game developers does not help, attempting to contact easy anti cheat is a chore and I don't recall if I was able to or not, either way they didn't help.

It ended up working a few months later so I had assumed it was some issue easy anti cheat had patched out.

If you're desperate, I'd say just do a full reinstall, otherwise just play something else for a few months and wait for it to start working again, though I can't say for sure if either of those will fix it for you obviously.

I have the fix!!!! https://m.majorgeeks.com/content/page/how_to_fix_the_application_was_unable_to_start_correctly_(0xc0000142).html
If you don’t trust the link it’s majorgeeks.com and just search anti cheat elden ring. It’s the one labeled How to Fix the Application Was Unable to Start Correctly (0xc0000142). Scroll down to unusual suspects (5) Microsoft.NET framework Redistribution Package. Download and run the program and keep on gaming. Hope this helps, and have a nice day!!
Hello,

Surprisingly I resolved it. After trying everything for last 12 months for other games, I was amazingly able to fix it as follows:

I recently bought Space Marin 2 and could not run it - to my extreme frustration and anger.

I also bought it via EPIC Games and it could not run. It was due to Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC).

However I fixed it after nearly 1 year as follows:

Go to Settings in Windows

Go to Windows Defender Firewall

I then went to Advanced Settings

By some miracle I decided to add the EAC and Space Marine 2 exe files to "OUTBOUND RULES".

By allowing EAC and the specific game paths to "OUTBOUND RULES" with permission to send data out, I was able to run the games that I wasn't able to do so in the past.

I could then run other games I could not do so in the past such and Fractured Online, Pax Dei etc

In the past I added them to INBOUND rules with no luck. I tried everything up to and including buying a new gaming PC and that didn't work. I also added to Anti Virus exceptions which didn't work. I went to forums in UK, India, USA, Canada, Germany etc and tried everything that was posted online, including on You Tube, but to no luck.

It appears there are many players out there with this issue but no one, it appears, has tried to fix this matter via OUTBOUND RULES.

Hope this helps STEAM and my fellow gamers out there.
