An agent from Steam contacted me
Hi, my original nickname was bearisland94. I was contacted by someone named Heidi claiming to be a steam agent on Steam, who sounded like the real deal. I want to confirm with you that I really was contacted by an employee at Steam because Heidi told me to trade my skins to a friend in order to safeguard the skins/items while my account/inventory was intervestigaton. What really bothers me is that all the skins I traded in Steam to a trusted friend actually got sent to a steam user that I felt was shady. I'm actually terrified as my inventory has a lot of real money value, and want to confirm with you guys that my account indeed is under investigation for getting a knife skin; specifically Butterfly Knife Black Laminate - Well Worn which I purchased at one of the many popular 3rd party websites: {LINK REMOVIDO}.

I spent around 800-850 Euros on the knife and when the transaction was done, a Skinport account on steam sent me knife in trade offer which is somewhat a regular practice these 3rd party websites does, no?

I know that I am not guilty in fraud and I know it, I can send all the proof I can gather. I even recorded it happening yesterday. And if I actually have been hacked... then I hope steam support can help me. They have closed two of my requests almost immediately after sending it.

Thank you for your time.

Extra:
When the personal agent Heidi requested me to trade the inventory items to a trusted friend or a backup account, I did so to a friend I was in discord with and my friend never received a notification of the trade offer.
I am now seriously concerned that somehow the trade offer went to a scammer/hacker. I am really scared that I may have been scammed for over a thousand euros in value and hope you guys can help me for clarity

Hey Aluvard, I have scanned my PC multiple times now with no negative results, until right now.
Malware bytes detected a PUP.Optional.BundleInstall.exe file.

What should I do to stop this?

I have Fortect premium which runs at all times, and that program didn't detect anything...
It's not anti-vir nor anti-malware software despite their claims. It's something similar to ccleaner.

Yet it missed 72 files. I'd consider finding something that's actually an anti-virus/malware software.

The site you sent me says: Malwarebytes can detect and remove PUP.Optional.BundleInstaller without further user interaction. If one of these bundlers has been detected on a system it is advisable to run a full system scan.

Yet I had to scan and manually remove this virus. Any idea on how to stop this ''bundle'' from coming back?

By the way, I appreciate all the help Aluvard

That's probably from a freeware program. To reduce the likelihood of getting PUPs like this, download free programs only from their authors, and avoid authors that add PUPs to their installers.

I decided to uninstall Brave and get Mozilla. I was starting to think that maybe there was something through the previous browser that could be downloading the virus. As for apps, I have uninstalled some recently installed though none of them seemed to be the sinner. I will keep scanning via Malwarebytes throughout the day, I just hope my PC is safe when I turn it off to go to sleep and work etc.
What was found?

Have you removed api key and made new backup codes?
Bearisland 23/ago./2023 às 10:59
Yeah, I did that earlier today

Just quarantined 4 more files now. Same Pup.Optional files

What can I do to stop this ''invasion''
These things were on your computer before. Load only from reputated sources. And not everything.

I purchased Malwarebytes premium in order to have the program detect and block all these viruses automatically without me having to anything manually, if these viruses were to come back. It will scan every 15 second and it will remain like that for as long as it feels necessary.

What? If you run an antivirus it should detect what is running.
Also malwarebytes is not that much an antivirus. Its a good second opinion.

I dont know man, I am still scared and dont want to take any chances even though I have control over my account. The subscription features the ability for the program to detect and remove the virus before it even becomes active, automatically. Besides it only cost about 2.5 euros a month. What anti virus would you recommend?

I recommend to have an antivirus only to notify you if you did it wrong. To fix it.
The fact that they update eveery day means, you need to be careful anyway.

If an antivirus finds something, the task is not only to let it remove it (or attempt to), but to look what it found. To know if it was something serious. If it was found later, you dont know what it did before it was detected.
