Steam Error Failed to Start Game (app already running)

I am encountering a problem when I am trying to start Tekken 7, I do not encounter it with different games only in Tekken. I tried everything on the internet. Please help.

Sometimes this can happen if the game doesn't shut down properly. Something is still quietly running in the background and this is what Steam is detecting.

The first thing I'd suggest trying is rebooting your system. By doing a full reboot, you ensure that you have a blank slate as everything was terminated when you shut down.

After the reboot, you can try opening steam and launching Tekken 7.

If it works, great. If you get the same issue, I'd suggest taking your issue to the Tekken 7 forums because you may be having a more complex issue than what I'm describing here and people on the games forums may be more familiar with how to troubleshoot that specific game.

Thanks for your response unfortunately it still happens to me after rebooting my laptop.

Verify the games files.

Right click on the game > properties > local files > verify.

Always check the game forum first. ;-)

Seems like someone had success by moving the game to a different location, and someone else by turning off admin rights on the game.

Thank you for your response man, all I did was unchecked that run as administrator option. Thank you so much.
