Help finding CD Key
Hello all, I'm trying to change my phone number on my steam account as I had to change it when I got a new phone. When I go to steam support, they ask for a cd key as proof of me being owner of the account, but I cannot find any cd keys attached to my account, despite the don't starve shipwrecked DLC giving me a cd key for it years ago after I had already bought it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

They are asking for a physical Key, like from a retail game or an email from a purchase from a online store. NOT on of the keys on any game bought from Steam...

Usually, they ask for the FIRST key used on the account.

edit -----------------

Please note keys haven't been displayed in the Steam UI for years...

I don't think I've ever purchased anything physically to use on my steam account, other than steam funds cards when I was younger and would receive them on birthdays. Am I just SOL then?

if you cant provide what they ask for, ask them if there is something else you can provide as proof

Did they ask for a particular game or just physical evidence in general?
Anyway, keep talking with support, openly and honest. That's the only thing you can do.

While they didn't ask me for a key when trying to validate me, they did ask for information on a PayPal purchase -- and they told me exactly which purchase they wanted me to look at.

Are you sure you are even talking to actual support? Not someone on Discord etc?

Although I can understand that they might just ask for "a key", as they can't know which key you still have. If you need to jog your memory -- look at your license list at https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/ and look for licenses with the acquisition method "Retail". Those have been obtained by entering a key... most of them, anyway.
