Your welcome.
From December 20, 2022:
I apologize delay while we looked into this for you.
We were able to reproduce this behavior ourselves and have reported it to our team.
We currently don't have a fix for you, but we encourage you to post about this to the updated Big Picture mode discussion forums, along with a brief description, the steps that can be taken to reproduce it, as well as any other information that seems relevant. This forum is regularly read by Valve's Steam Deck development team.
Subscribe to our Steam Client Beta group to see a full log of changes. While we can't give any timelines, this should allow you to update yourself on any changes our team make in the future.
We really appreciate your help with this process.
If you have any other questions, please let us know - we'll do our best to assist.

I did the update and when I went to play a game, my controller didn't work. How do I fix it since I'm obviously going to have since Steam doesn't seem too compelled.
I downloaded x360ce from www.x360ce.com, then I ran it while my controller was plugged in and went through the layout screen and assigned the buttons to do what I want. This application must be running for Steam to recognize the controller, but minimizing the app sends it to the taskbar, out of the way.
