What are Steam Guest Passes?

Can someone tell me what a Steam Guest Pass is? I'm hoping that they are a way to gift somebody a game for only a certain period of time, then I get the game back. Is that what they are? I was hoping to gift somebody Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 for like 3 days then get the game back. Thanks ahead of time for anyone's help.

They're items in your inventory at http://steamcommunity.com/my/inventory

They can grant the other person 3 days -period to play the game. You cannot make Guest Passes yourself. You can visualize them as "temporary Steam Gifts."

I remember the days when Team Fortress 2 and Killing Floor still had Guest Passes.

I'd say Guest Passes are a rare sight these days, but what do I know.

i think it means you own the game and you can send the passes to a friend if they dont have the game

Ok does this mean they can download and play the game, but only for 3 days max . Or does it mean our friends can play the game forever once it is installed on their side, but cannot have full access to online features after 3 days, more or less.
