ANNOYING BEEP WITH STEAM MESSAGES

Steam chat message beep. I want to turn it off.
It really annoys me. I think the setting should be in the chat window.
Also I think voice chat should work with the phone app.

I am usieng my dedicated server account to ask this question here. I used to add a lot of useful ideas which later got implemented, as well as answer some tough PC issues. Thats all lost due to admin abuse. I got banned from posting messages, because I was contesting a bann. I think thats was messed up of steam. and since there is no customer service. I am often stuck with out help.

Open the Steam client. Click Steam and then Settings. In the new window, go to the Friends tab. Remove a tick from the "Play a sound" box below each of the following, depending on your preference:

• When any Friend joins a game
  
• When I receive a message
  
• When any Friend comes online

My real account is easy to find. Look at that account's post history then decide. I did all I could do to over turn the bann. its a dead horse now.

You are correct. Custom url and all. Only reason i said anything further was the look in the mirror reference.
