[BUG] Steam client works incorrect after Windows 10 Anniversary Update
After installing Windows 10 Anniversary Update I have a bug with Steam Client: it doesn't load Store, SteamCommunity, In-Game Web Browser, etc. (all, that need an Internet connection).

Reinstalling doesn't help.

I have an idea, that Steam has a problem with using its WebAPI.

What should I do? Is it Steam incompatibility with the latest Windows 10 update or just my PC problems?

Deactivate "direct write" in the Steamsettings and start Steam again

Thank you!
But why could I use it on the previous version of Windows, and can't use it now?

Because Microsoft changed something about how it works or what it does.

Updated We released a small update to this beta that resolves a compatibility issue in the upcoming Windows Anniversary Update.

This was a few days ago already.

Best Regards,
Someone using Windows 10 Home x64 w/ Anniversary Update installed and DirectWrite enabled with no issues.

Either disable DirectWrite or try enable the Steam Client Beta.

Same issue on my PC (after OS update}. Disabling DirectWrite helped. Thank you Cadwell. Will try to re-enable on newer versions.

Disabling DirectWrite fixed it for me.

Thanks a lot Cadwell!!! I'd been going crazy trying to get it fixed since I ran the anniversary update earlier today.

For what it's worth, the beta client version of Steam did *not* work for me with DirectWrite enabled (ASUS STRIX 980 Ti OC, Latest drivers). I had tried that earlier based on someone else's post. I didn't know about the DirectWrite option at the time, so I didn't try disabling it on the beta.

Steam > Settings > Interface.

Then untick the box regarding DirectWrite.
