Same Steam account being logged in in two different windows user profiles
Hi, me and my brother use 2 different and personal steam accounts and for our convenience we use 2 Windows user profiles o that we don’t have to log into our respective steam accounts every time we want to use it. So we just switch between 2 user profiles and use steam like that.
Now the problem is, it happened suddenly that whenever I log into my steam account in my Windows user profile, my steam account is logged in my brother's user profile as well. For example, if I logged into my steam account in my windows user profile, then I exit steam, sign out from my Windows user profile then I sign into my brother's user profile and open steam there, my account gets logged in. Whereas it should be my brother's account that should have been logged in.
It's like Windows or steam is sharing through 2 different user accounts. How can I resolve this issue? Can please someone help me?

Edit: Opting out of Beta participation seems to solve this issue

Have your brother use your windows profile and you use his profile. Problem solved.

No, if i login to my steam account, my steam account get logged in in both windows user profiles. Same goes for my brother's account. What normally used to happen is that, in my user profile, only my account was logged in and I'd just exit my steam (not logout) and signout of the user. Signing in my brother's user profile, he'd have his steam account logged in whenever he opened his steam.

The reason to use 2 different users is so that we both do not have to login every time we want to use steam and the steam guard thing is another issue, that you have to have your phone with you always. So yeah, it's not hard but to make things easier. The point is why all of a sudden something lilke this happened? and if there is a way to make this like the way it was

Odd that this is suddenly happening to others. This is a pretty rare thread.

It is new behavior, steam apparently didn't do this before january 31st beta client update.
I don't know how steam handles multiple user profiles on windows machines, but apparently this wasn't there before.

@OP, does switching out of Steam Beta resolve the issue?

Exact same situation here, posted it earlier today.

Sharing the PC with my couple, two Windows users, each its own Steam user logged in. Been using this configuration for the last few years.

Since two days ago, same Steam log in will carry between both Windows accounts, so we have to keep logging out and in.

Should we report it somewhere?

Yes, Opting out of steam beta resolve this issue. Thanks to the redditor who helped me resolving this issue. I hope it's just a bug and not something they'll add in the future.
