Not appearing on friends list
I am a fairly high level on steam, but for some reason i am not appearing on any of my friends' friends list (profile area). Now i do have my profile set to friends only. Is that the issue? I've also asked my friends whether or not i appear on their profiles and they said the exact same thing, no. I also asked them if it was due to me being set to friends only, I swapped between friends only and public several times with no results. The same friends also stated that they had friends who were also set to friends only but they were appearing. I would like to appear on my friends profile lists, and am just confused right now

i only know about win7 ssl issue, rest seem like bad explanation with mixed topic that dont seem to happend on win8 and win10. ( win11 who cares, to new maybe to many bugs. )

win 7 is dead and gone, none support MS system. steam own faulth for not telling rest of steam user that you are on such system if thats the cause here. ( win7 user make havok in every steam thread and who know what is the issue next time. )


and we other need to explan you that you are the problem here, thanks alot steam devs.

It's because your profile is private or set to friends only. You will not appear on any of your friends lists (profile page) with this privacy setting but you will show in their friends page.

with ur current privacy settings ur lvl is showing as 0 for everyone

Yup, this change has been there years. No it's not a issue. Your profile is friends only (or private) that shows level 0 so it makes disappear from top levels friends list regardless being friend or not.

Does everything need to be set to public? Like game details, because my profile is public now and i'm still not showing up

Right now my settings are; profile: public, game details: friends only, friends list: public, inventory: friends only

Try setting game details to public.

Are you on same network as the friend here, you might have a router that dont have portforward to other pc then you can wait forever. ( assume you do have NaT configurated router, then it should work )

most of us dont see other steam account, but it sounds like you can see own name on friends pc.

or even worse ipv6 issue in top of this.

My sister is having the same problem right now. She didn't change anything, it happened right after the Steam servers went down for a short time...

server or isp line can do that but thats why most aerver has backup server shoulfd be up faster then 10minute, ISP and its fibber or should i say congessted area, thats a more complex and most fiber is up under 24hours, so traffic will return to normal.

even such can happend, but you will not get that as first reply in whats wrong. and also is a issue then its few user only , if many stema user says its down then it look like that and possible it is.

dont expect all know this, and want to explan such, just like your sister explan it down doing a crash or server glitch. so mnay ways to say it.
