i could say steam need to turn off that option and use nearest or next nearest 4 direction max router path to get to diffrent steam server then some area need expansion to cover it.
just because i can see the problem and know it dont mean its that simple for steam to change, but hey , maybe steam need a CCIE that can explan a thing or 2 about network and its topology change.
Did they? I only read about them delaying game updates. I tried to google it and searched the forums here before I posted but didnt see anything. Well, at least that explains it.
If they are throttling than it does make sense but a bit of an inconvenience. I guess if my speeds get slow again ill try to find another region. It is nice to shave off almost half the time to DL a game though.
Yes, of course, but steam actually capping regional bandwidth now is new. At least for me. I never had any issues with my region and was always above 35MB/s DL speeds.
No big deal. We will just have to deal with it until things get better. Lots of other things to be more concerned about anyways.
Whats 2 640 000 000 Bits per second aka 2640 Mbits aka 164 normal 16 000 K/Bit lines.
Steam can obliterate your connection if it wants to
removing the throttling isnt sufficent enough, you need a download location your country usually does not use like azerbaijan or something similar.
only at this case you have full download speed.
I also find sometimes the region defaults back to my native server area. Which is quite annoying.
If anyone is on fiber I feel bad for you. It would almost make having that bandwidth pointless. These caps are terrible.
