I can't upload workshop gifs for my workshop showcase

I've seen profiles with workshop gif showcases and when I'm trying to upload mine I get the error:

Upload failed. An unknown error has occurred. Common causes include branding images that are too large or corrupted.

Have you tried following this guide:

Are you also making sure the .gifs you're using are not too large when it comes to file size?

I'm using that guide exactly and yeah the gifs I'm trying to upload are 700kb at most. I'm not sure what the max size is.

Which part of the guide are you following? You want to follow the steps one through six for the "uploading" portion of the guide. The "creating" part (and steps) of the guide is for when you want that showcase to display part of your profile background.

Yeah I'm following steps 1 to 6. I think the problem may be steam server issues.
