refund question.

so im waiting for steam to accept my refund request for no man's sky.
when i submited the request i bought a cd key for the same game but cheaper (bc im in a little money trouble rn) after i bought the key and activated the key and downloaded the game, if steam accepts my refund will i still have acces to the game?


edit: soo would it work if i deleted the game waited for the refund and if steam accepts the refund, then i will take it remove it from my account then use my key? would that work?

You can't buy No Mans Sky on steam and redeem a key you bought on another site for the game.....

The key wouldn't redeem as you'd have already owned the game so you'd have to explain what you did in more detail

I'll never understand why people in money trouble grab a shovel and dig a little deeper...

What if they decline the refund? What if they do refund and the game goes? What if the key gets revoked because it was bought with a stolen credit card and sold on that site to launder the money? Why are you buying games at all if you have money trouble? Why don't you exercise a little patience i.e not buying game or at least wait on spending more money until you get the already spent money back?

Exception if the key is actually for a different package than the Steam purchase.

ex. Steam purchased base game, DLC included key...

You will basically get the DLC but not an extra copy of the base game and STEAM will accept the key.

Now, both are locked to the account permanently and ANY playtime adds to the total for the two hour\two week limit for refunds from Steam. The key will never be removed....

Not really sure. By activating the key before the refund was approved, you've definitely confused things. You'll have to wait for support to answer.

I sure would not play any more until resolved.
