then you're getting even more than you should with that internet speed, congrats.

what do you mean i am getting more than i should

divide the big number by 8, that's how much you should be downloading, ur confusing mb's with MB's.

i have my steam set to MB and my internet to MB

your internet is mb, steam displays MB. 45 mb/s is 5.6 MB/s

there's no issue here, you need to do more research. like I said, you're getting an even BETTER speed than you should be .3 MB/s which is a good 2.1 mb/s.

Microsoft uses MegaBIT in their download speeds. Steam uses MegaBYTE.
8 Bit = 1 Byte

Go to Steam --> Settings --> Downloads and check the option to have it displayed in bits instead of bytes.

Internet is always advertised as mb/megabit not MB/MegaByte. Do a speedtest using http://www.speedtest.net/

It'll clearly show you your speed in mb/megabits

Or change Steam settings to show you speeds in mb

it says 360mb/s

So your internet is 360 mb/s not the 45mb/s you said in opening post. As you have 360mb/s on that speed test that means your internet speed is 45MB/s. Notice the capitals. Lowercase for bits and uppercase for Bytes. Small difference but being as 8 bits per byte its a BIG difference in data transfer speeds.

If you never changed what Steam display speeds as then 5.9mb/s is actually 5.9MB/s. So yes you're getting less than your maximum available speed.

Use Task Manager to see if your CPU is running at 100% and the same for your hard drive. As Steam unpacks and installs files while you download if your drive and.or CPU are already running at 100% then the download will be slowed to allow that,

i ment 45MB/s
