F12 Screenshot Problem

Hello everyone , i got a problem with steam,

Im trying to Screenshot on Counter Strike 1.6 but it doesn't work.

I checked the "Steam Overlay In-Game"

I rebound the screenshot key to F8
It didn't work.

I went to settings , double checked everything , doesn't work.

When i press F12 it doesn't do anything. I pressed it like 50 times, it just wont work.

I removed steam from firewall, didn't do anything.
I run it as administrator, it didn't work.

Honestly , it will never work.

I want to complete that Community Leader badge , cause i will remove my limit soon enough.

Only thing that usually stops it from working is a second key being pressed. ie: running forward in certain valve games and then pressing f12 will not take a screenshot.

If you have any HID compliant devices attached, a game pad, controller or whatever might conflict with button presses.
You could also change the destination folder or have changed it and it isnt writable due to admin privilages, try a usb stick as destination folder for screenshots?

HID is human interface device.

Thank you , i will reply tommorow with results. But im sure i dont press any button while trying to screenshot.

Also for HID, i dont really use gamepads or anything else, all i got connected to my PC is : Mouse , keyboard, Dell audio stereo speakers.

It doesnt work, i tried it just doesnt.

Are you changing the default folder also yes ?
Can you check your Documents folder and see if Steam is creating the folder for the games/games your trying ? maybe try a different game to test, maybe even disable the Steam overlay and try.

i checked the administrator documents, it isnt anything there,

Ill dig into it a bit when i get a minute, in the mean time you could scrrenshot another game for your badge, get badge delete crappy screenshot :)

Try any other game you can, one is bound to work.
Maybe check Java .Netframework, anything steam client needs to function properly, something might be out of date or changed

Do you have a laptop? If so, you need to hold down the Fn key before pressing any of the F# keys.

Do not move or click any other buttons than f12 when screenshotting in game. Also if you are a laptop user pressing Fn key (close right side of spacebar) COULD work as the person above said.

No, i don't use a laptop, i use a PC.

I've had this problem and the solution to my fix was software mode... If you use software mode then F12 or steam screenshot will work.. but for whatever reason opengl F12 won't work so it's weird lol.
