I see that you may be having a problem connecting your controller.
(Restart your computer before trying this)
I would suggest checking to see if the controller drivers are up-to-date.
First Navigate to Windows icon in the bottom left corner > right click > Device Manager > Navigate to the bottom and see if "Xbox Peripherals" shows up.
If so left click the drop down then RIGHT click on "Xbox Gaming Device" and select update drivers.
Note: Make sure your computer is up to date with all the latest updates; Also check that your antivirus Is turned off.
Hope this helps.
One thing I find strange is that it says "Xbox 360 peripheral" when the controller itself is an Xbox one/windows 10 controller. Could that mean I have the wrong driver for it or is my laptop just loopy?
Does the controller work for games if you disable the things in steam controller settings?
